Kindergarten – Nuyen

August  2014 News

Dear Kindergarten Families,

Welcome to Oakland Academy. We are so excited to have a wonderful year with you and your child. Learning will begin promptly to help established daily routines. Daily routines will be in place on the first day of school and remain the same throughout the school year. Routine is important for our young learners; your child will begin to learn a sense of time and purpose within our classrooms!

Our goal each year is to create a safe and caring learning environment for our students. Within this environment we will learn to become independent problem solvers! Each week you will receive a progress report stating the objectives we will be teaching your student. You will see reading, writing, and math objectives every week and the other subject areas (social studies, science, music, art, and health) rotated in. Please use this progress report as a conversation piece with your student to get them talking about their day and what they have learned!

We look forward to seeing what the 2014-2015 school year brings!

“If you never did, you should. These things are fun and fun is good!”

Happy learning,
