March is Reading Month
This year’s theme is “Read Around the World!” Each classroom is going to represent a country. Students will be given a reading calendar. Each student and parent is in charge of tracking how much reading they are doing each night. The calendar will also show sporadic ‘Spirit Days’ throughout the month of March!
We will have Literacy Night on March 21st from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. Each classroom will have an activity to do that represents their Read Around the World country. Students will be given a passport and be able to travel around the world on Literacy Night. Student will even be able to pick out a new, free book! Please join us for Literacy Night and the PTO meeting that follows right after.
Spring Conferences are the last week in March. They will take place from March 27th through March 29th. Conference information and signup sheets have been sent home. Conference signup sheets are due no later than Wednesday, March 8th. Thank you.
March is the last month for Book-It! Those who have participated in the program all 6 months are now “All-Star Readers!” They will receive a cool pencil for their hard work. Keep reading!
Ariana and Trentynn were our character counts winners for February. They did a great job demonstrating the trait of Respect. This month we are focusing on Perseverance.
Have a wonderful month!
