5th Grade – Miller

October Newsletter

Thank you for the support you have given during the first month of school! We have been busy getting into our routine and establishing the classroom schedule and behavior expectations.

Homework: Any unfinished work is sent home and is due the next day. This includes our morning work; DOL (Daily Oral Language), DMP (Daily Math Practice), and spelling activities.  Spelling words should be studied at home throughout the week for our Friday spelling test!

Our first fundraiser for Sherman Lake Camp will be the Save-Around Coupon Book.  Each child will be given a sample book and instructions for the sale.  The books cost $25.00 with half of the money ($12.50) going towards each student’s camp expense! (More information will be coming home about this).

Our second fund raiser for Sherman Lake Camp is the bake sale during Parent/Teacher Conferences, November 7th-10th.  I will be sending a note home to ask for baked good donations and volunteers to watch the table (upper-el. building) and collect money during conferences.

With the weather changing, it is a good idea for your child to keep a sweater for class and a hoodie or jacket at school or in his/her backpack for recess.
