From the Principal

August 24, 2018

Dear Evergreen Academy Families:

It is with great excitement to introduce myself, Brittany Guest, as the new principal of Evergreen Academy. I am honored to have the opportunity to work closely with The Foundation, Evergreen staff, Evergreen families, and the community to ensure a positive and safe learning environment for your student. I taught for 5 years, 3 years at Evergreen, and am excited to start this journey as your new principal. Transition into this position as principal will be supported greatly by The Foundation; Amanda Brown, Director of Schools; and Shawn Boris, Oakland Academy Principal. I will be working over the course of the year to ensure your student is receiving the best instructional and extracurricular opportunities we can provide.

Evergreen has prided itself on the community atmosphere we have created. We will continue to work with our Evergreen families and partners, including the YMCA and Free Methodist Church, while also reaching out into the community further. I will continue to build our strong relationship between Evergreen and Evergreen PTO, keeping in mind our students are the number one priority.

The Evergreen community endured many transitions over the past year. I believe in our students and staff, and I am confident in this transition.  I appreciate your support and openness with the coming school year. We will be hiring highly qualified teachers and staff members to help make this next year the most successful year Evergreen has seen!

My goals for your student are clear; I want to see your student succeed academically and socially. I want them to thrive in an environment filled with supportive staff and resources. I will celebrate their successes throughout the year, no matter how big or small. I will greet your student(s) as they arrive, be a presence in the hallway and classrooms, and be ready to start each day as a new adventure. Most importantly your student is here to learn in a safe and caring community, which they will find at Evergreen.

I appreciate all the parent, family, and community support we have received over the past few years at Evergreen. I see a future of positive change and strong learning for your student to leave Evergreen as well-rounded individuals and ready to make a positive impact on this world.

Please do not hesitate to call, email, or make an appointment if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas in which you would like to discuss.

Enjoy the rest of you summer!

Best Regards,
Brittany Guest, Principal
