3rd Grade – Lemley

September Newsletter

Welcome to the new school year.  We are excited to have Mr. Nathan Runyon joining us this year in our third grade. He will be teaching science and helping in every way needed in our classrooms.

The first few weeks of school we will be learning how to be Champs.  The Champs program is our school’s way of doing things. We look forward to sharing all of our successes with this program as the year progresses.

We will be reviewing and getting our reading groups assessed for this year’s Busy Bee groups.  We will also be taking the NWEA tests starting the 19th.  These assessments will allow us to plan our instruction and focus on the areas of need for the year.

Math will be a review of addition, subtraction, and general number sense for the first few weeks.  We will then begin our student of multiplication.

Science will be studying organisms in our world. Social Studies will look at our place on the earth and its importance. We will begin our first writing narratives.

We are looking forward to a great year or teaching and learning and invite you all to stop on by and share this experience with us.

Reminders:
School begins at 8:20.  The doors to our buildings open at 8 a.m. with breakfast being served immediately to prepare us all for our day.
