We have wrapped up conferences and many objectives during the month of November. December brings about new and exciting things in the classroom. We will begin focusing on team building activities, group work, individual reading, NWEA Fridays, and a solar system project which will be due before break.
In Social Studies, we will continue our focus on Michigan but will turn more toward our constitution and government.
We have graduated out of the addition and subtraction phase of our math curriculum and are diving into multiplication and division. Please make sure your student is practicing their facts as often as possible so they don’t struggle with their class assignments and homework.
We are very pleased with the amount of reading the students have been doing. During the month of November, the class read a total of 5,160 minutes! HOW AWESOME! For the month of December, we want to make our goal higher, so keep feeding your brains!

Book of the Month!!
This month we are reading Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. The students really get into the book and can’t wait for the next chapter! We will be watching the movie after the book is completed. Our next book is Matilda.
Please practice your math facts! We will be doing timed tests each Tuesday and Thursday.
Individual spelling pre-tests will be each Thursday, and spelling tests will be given each Friday. If you pass the pre-test, you have Friday off! Practice, practice, practice! Keep in mind the Spelling35 homework is mandatory. The more you practice the better you will become at spelling!
Please remember to have students bring an extra set of outdoor wear (shoes, gloves, hats, scarves, etc.) With the weather getting rainy and snowy, we would hate to ruin the new carpet by tracking mud into the classroom.
